How The Light Elves handles the information you share with us.
What we collect
When you request an estimate, we receive the details you send us: name, phone, email, address or neighbourhood, service area, the services you want, your estimator answers, preferred timing, notes and any photos you upload.
When you send a message from the contact page, we receive your name, email, phone (if you give it), the topic and your message, and use them only to reply.
When you use the home preview, your photo is lit up on your own device and isn't uploaded. If you ask us to email you your design, we receive your email address and the design image, and we use them only to send it to you.
Why we collect it
To prepare your quote, schedule your install, and contact you about your lights. We don't sell your information.
How long we keep it
Estimate requests and the photos you send are kept in our Google Workspace account (Google Sheets and Google Drive) while we're working with you and for our records afterward.
For designs we email to you, we keep only a note of the address it went to and when.
Analytics: Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages and ads bring people to us, and Microsoft Clarity to see how pages are used (where people tap and scroll, and where a page gets in their way), so we can make the site easier to use.
They collect: the pages you visit, how you got here (a search, an ad or a link), your device and browser type, a rough location (city or region, from your IP address), and how you move through a page. They don't receive what you type into our forms: we mark the name, phone, email, address, notes and photo fields so Clarity masks them, and we never send your answers to Google Analytics.
Cookies: both tools set cookies to tell one visit from the next: Google Analytics' _ga cookies, Clarity's _clck and _clsk, and Microsoft's MUID (set from clarity.ms and bing.com). They don't identify you by name.
Opting out: you can block or delete these cookies in your browser settings, install Google's opt-out add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout), or use a browser or extension that blocks trackers. The site works the same without them.
