Christmas light takedown and removal in Calgary

Every seasonal install includes the spring takedown. Pick a preferred month, January to about April 1, and our Elves take it all down once conditions are right.

When do you take Christmas lights down?

In the month you prefer, from January to about April 1. It's a preferred month, not an appointment, because takedowns are weather dependent.

  • January
  • February
  • March
  • End of March / early April
Why it's weather dependent
Takedowns are weather dependent. Removing strands in extreme cold can crack the wire and plastic, so our Elves wait for suitable conditions.

Leaving them up, paying, and whose lights

  • Can my lights stay up after Christmas?

Yes. Unplug your lights whenever you're done enjoying them. Our Elves remove them once conditions are right.

  • Should I prepay my takedown?

We recommend it. Prepaying keeps things easy after Christmas, when nobody wants another bill. Most of our regular clients prepay.

  • Our lights or yours?

Either way, takedown is part of the seasonal installation: 40% of the installation amount, shown as its own line on your estimate.

    More detail
Our lights: covered by our 5-year warranty when you use our seasonal setup and takedown service, and you keep them for next year. Your lights: we install them with our own clips for $32.50 per strand, but lights that didn't come from us aren't warrantied.
